Gasoline Prices Reach Highest Level Since Late May

While the average price of gasoline in Los Angeles has exceeded $4 per gallon, at least one station in Baldwin Park was selling self-serve regular for less.

With the the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County reaching to $4.082, the highest since June of last year, it is a good idea to check for the cheaper gas prices in Baldwin Park.

According to figures from the Automobile Club of Southern California (AAA), the average price of gasoline has increased for 15 consecutive days and 27 times in 28 days in Los Angeles County.

Some analysts have cited increasing oil prices and the closure of some California refineries for maintenance as reasons for the rising prices.

The higher oil prices, which followed Iran's action Monday halting exports to Britain and France, have increased concerns that increasing gasoline prices could stall an economic recovery.

Patch checked several Baldwin Park gas station listings and found that only one station, V & G Auto Service on Francisquito Avenue, sold gasoline for under $4 per gallon.

Earlier Tuesday, Puente Valero at 3660 Puente Ave. was listed at $ 3.90 per gallon, but the price increased to $ 4.02 by 7 p.m., according to gasbuddy.com.
