Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean (D) lit into the GOP Tuesday night, attacking what he described as the party's willingness to abandon Latino voters and instead express concern only for corporate interests. "[Republicans] don’t care what anybody says except for themselves and their corporate masters, like the Koch brothers. They have one master, and that's money," Dean told MSNBC's Ed Schultz. "They don't care about the average working American, all they care about is the corporations who are giving them all that money to put them into office. ... So who are they going to serve?" Dean took issue with the recent Senate GOP move to block a bill to extend lower student loan interest rates, saying that it was telling show of priorities that the…

It doesn't have a message on what Republicans would do on the issue themselves, and specifically the plans of presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
A Latino-vote outreach program on Tuesday plans to stress to voters that the president has failed on immigration reform and deported a record number of people, said the Republican National Committee's top Hispanic outreach coordinator. But so far, it doesn't have a message on what Republicans would do on the issue themselves, and specifically the plans of presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney. In fact, coordinator Bettina Inclan told reporters, Romney didn't have his immigration policy mapped out and the RNC would not yet be able to talk about it to Latino voters. The RNC quickly tried to take back the statement, telling reporters who tweeted it that Inclan's words were misunderstood -- or that she was misquoted. Kirsten Kukowski, a …

By David Sayen We hear a lot of back and forth these days about the Affordable Care Act – aka the federal health reform law – but not much about how it affects people with Medicare. When you sort through all the rhetoric, one thing is clear: the 2-year-old reform law contains some real benefits for those who get their coverage through Medicare. Take the so-called “donut hole” in the Medicare prescription drug program, Part D. The donut hole is a gap where you don’t have coverage even though you’re still paying premiums. After you’ve paid a certain amount out of pocket, your coverage resumes. Congress intended the hole to hold down costs in the drug program, the biggest expansion of Medicare …
