The Kaiser Permanente Farmers Market in Baldwin Park will be relaunched this Friday, with Southland Farmers' Market Association taking the reins of the event, to be held every two weeks.
The Farmers Market, which has contributed to the community for over seven years by offering a range of natural and organic products, will have more suppliers of organic fruits and vegetables starting Friday, January 25.
"We are excited about our new farmer’s market, which will enable us to offer more vendors and a bigger variety in terms of fresh fruits and vegetables,” said Reyna Del Haro, Public Affairs Director for Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park.
“By making locally grown produce more readily available to the local community we are able to promote healthier eating,” she added.
A celebration for the arrival of new suppliers will start at 12:00 pm in the Cafeteria patio.
The event will include demonstrations on how to cook healthy meals, and the chance to win gift baskets. Free samples of recipes prepared on site will be given to attendees.
The Farmers Market is open to the public every other Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
