The City of Baldwin Park in conjuction with Waste Management will be hosting a free recycling workshop geared towards Baldwin Park businesses that generate more than four yards per week of solid waste and property owners of multi-family complexes with five units or more  to a free recycling workshop.

The event will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Baldwin Park Arts & Recreation Center located on 14403 E. Pacific Ave located next to City Hall.  Light breakfast will be served.

The workshop will offer strategies for business and property to comply with Governor Brown’s signed legislation AB 341 which took effect at the beginning of this fiscal year.

The law requires both businesses that generate more than four yards per week of solid waste and multi-family complexes with five units or more to have a recycling program in place.

“Empowering businesses and property owners with tools that will enable them to take their recycling efforts to new heights is just another way that we show our commitment to their success.”

Business and property owners will learn about cost saving strategies to maximize the success of their existing program or start a recycling program. Attendees will also learn how their efforts will help increase Baldwin Park’s overall diversion rate to help both California achieve its goal of diverting 75 percent of materials away from the landfill and Waste Management’s recycling goal of 20 million tons by 2020.
