Local Organization Finalist for Lakers Youth Foundation YOU Grant

The Lakers Youth Foundation just announced the five finalists for the January 2013 Lakers Youth Foundation YOU Grant, and the local LUCHA Foundation is among the candidates. 

Five participants were elected and will compete through an online voting process to get the $5,000 YOU Grant. 

You can vote online by clicking here.  You will need a valid email address to cast your vote.

Last day to vote online is before Friday January 18, 2013 at 2 p.m.

The other candidates elected were: The Children’s Skin Disease Foundation, Playworks of Southern California, Friends of Ballona Wetlands and Enhancing Forward Action, Inc.

The LUCHA Foundation is a local organization dedicated to ensure change in the local community by identifying tomorrow's leaders. The students who received the scholarships to come from families that do not have the basic knowledge nor resources to send their children on to college.

The organization is fully funded by volunteers and fundraising events, therefore, this "YOU Grant" will help expand their unique scholarship program.
