Open House at Baldwin Park Animal Shelter

Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) is celebrating National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week.

All six County Animal Care Centers from the Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) - including the one in Baldwin Park- will host an Open House on Thursday, November 8th between 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Open house includes Animal Care Center tours, access to adoptable animals, the opportunity to meet and greet staff and volunteers and more.

“We are excited to extend some additional hospitality to visitors during our Open House,” said Marcia Mayeda, director of DACC. “Staff will be available for animal care center tours, meet and greet opportunities with animal control officers, and volunteers will be on-hand to assist with pet adoption,” Mayeda said.

National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week was started in 1996 as a way to acknowledge and promote the invaluable roles shelters play in the communities and to increase public awareness of animal welfare issues and shelter services. “There are many ways you can help your local shelter, such as volunteering, donating and adopting,” Mayeda said.
