Stay Safe and Beat the Heat at a Cooling Center
Temperatures are expected to climb to over 100 degrees. County officials want residents to know there are places where they can cool down.
With temperatures on the rise Los Angeles County officials are spreading the word about cooling centers for those who are on a tight budget and do not want to run their air conditioning or those who do not have any cooling system in their home.
The region will be under an excessive heat watch through much of the weekend.
In Baldwin Park temperatures were expected to hover around 100 degrees through at least Sunday, according to the National Weather Service’s Los Angeles/Oxnard office.

The worst of the heat is expected Saturday and Sunday with temperatures likely hitting 102 degrees, according to NWS officials.
To beat the heat, Los Angeles County officials advise residents to get out of their homes and head to centers where they can keep cool, or Cooling Centers. They recommend the following locations:
