Less Than 1 in 10 Sleep in the Nude, Says One Company

Anna's Linens asked people about their sleeping habits. Turns out some sleep in the nude.

A company that sells sheets and linens has announced today that 8 percent of Americans sleep naked, 74 percent of us sleep on our sides, and 47 of us sleep next to a person who snores.

Costa Mesa-based Anna's Linens released its survey of 3,700 people to draw publicity to National Sleep Day, Jan. 3.

The Anna's Linens research department purports that 74 percent of us wear pajamas to bed, 8 percent are naked, and the remainder are clothed in something else.

When it comes to quality of sleep, nearly two-thirds (65%) said they get a "restful night's sleep" only three nights or less per week. Ten percent said they get a restful night sleep every night, while one-quarter said they sleep restfully five to six nights per week.

The survey also found few of us fail to remember our dreams from the night before. More than half the respondents said they're able to recall less than one-quarter of their dreams, while approximately 10 percent said they were able to recall nearly all their dreams from that night's sleep.

And though most have trouble recalling their dreams, nearly 70 percent said their dreams were not as interesting as their friends' dreams. But when it comes to the nature of the dreams, 44 percent felt their dreams were "more bizarre" than their friends'.

The survey was not entirely altruistic, as it noted that the 8 percent of naked sleepers may enjoy the company's Egyptian cotton sheets.
