Adult Cat Adoption Promotion Ending this Month at Animal Shelters

So far the promotion "Nine Lives For $9" has shown some success; in some shelter locations adult cat adoptions have increased as much as 117% over the previous year.

The 'Nine Lives For $9' Adult Cat Adoption Promotion the Animals Foundation (www.foundanimals.org) is sponsoring through the summer in 18 animal care centers, including the will end this August 31st.

The Found Animals Foundation, a non-profit animal welfare organization, announced the “9 Lives for $9” cat adoption last June.

Any cat older than nine months could be adopted for just $9 at eighteen participating Los Angeles shelter locations. The $9 adoption fee includes spay or neuter, microchip and vaccinations.

Since the promotion is ending the Foundation is spreading the word in these last few weeks to save the lives of as many cats as possible, said Jessica Jeurink from the Animals Foundation.

"So far the promotion has shown some success; in some shelter locations adult cat adoptions have increased as much as 117% over the previous year," said Jeurink.

If you want to take advantage of this promotion you can visit the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter located at 4275 Elton Street.
