Baldwin Park Garage wins eBay Motors Series

The winner of the program "BUILT" from eBay Motors, where participants had to build a classic car with parts obtained exclusively through the popular marketplace website, was , a family owned garage located on Puente Avenue in Baldwin Park.

Duran Quality Painting, was competing against three other auto shops from Southern California selected by eBay Motors to build four classic cars, which are now be auctioned for charity.

The 1966 Chevrolet El Camino built by the Baldwin Park garage is available for auction now.

"Located in Baldwin Park —the epicenter of lowrider culture—Duran’s is big on two things: family and turning out the most beautifully painted lowriders around," reads the description of the winner on the eBay website.

"In fact, Rico has a good chunk of his family tree working for him to make sure that every lowrider that rolls out of his shop is perfect. And if it requires an all-nighter or two, fret not: Rico and family will fire up the barbecue alongside the paint booth."

El Camino is being auctioned to benefit the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Fund awards financial assistance to college students who plan to enter the automotive field.

“We’ve been lucky enough to show our vehicles at SEMA more times than I can count. Auctioning our El Camino off for the SEMA Memorial Scholarship is our way of giving back to an organization that’s done a lot for my shop,” said Rico Duran.

The actual bid for El Camino is $ 18,100 as Thursday 9:00 a.m. There is only 8 days left to bid.

Viewers are able to watch every step of the construction process. Each shop was assisted by experts from magazines like Hot Rod, Lowriders, European Car and Four Wheeler. You can watch all episodes here.
