Original In-N-Out Replica Won't be a Museum

"We are building a replica of the original restaurant in Baldwin Park. It is nowhere near completion though,", said Carl Van Fleet, In-N-Out's Vice President of Planning and Development.

In 2011, after In-N-Out demolished an old restaurant building in Baldwin Park, some media outlets were reporting that the abandoned burger stand (erroneously believed to be In-N-Out's first restaurant) would be turned into a museum.

Two years later and after Patch published some photos of a replica being built in Baldwin Park, Carl Van Fleet, In-N-Out's Vice President of Planning and Development told Patch that there are no current plans for "anything like a museum."

"We are building a replica of the original restaurant in Baldwin Park.  It is nowhere near completion though,", said Van Fleet.  "While the outside is getting close to being done, we’re still working on the inside to make it look as much like the original as possible and we’ve still got quite a bit of work to do there."

Van Fleet added that the building will not be an operational restaurant.

"At this point, we are just building a replica that we hope will help us honor our history."

And although this is not on the exact original location, the replica will be very close to the Harry Snyder's original house-turned-burger stand.

The real first and original In-N-Out was demolished before the construction of the I-10 Freeway.
