You are never too old to play. And with that in mind authorities from animal shelters in the county, including the one in , will be motivating senior citizens to adopt free pets during the month of may.
Additionally senior pets -older than five years old— will also have discounted prices.
According to Evelina Villa, from Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC), the “Super Senior May: Never Too Old to Play” event will take place from the first day of the month until May 31st.
Senior citizens older than 60 will be waived the price of adoption during the month at animal shelters.
And to promote the adoption of “senior pets” (5 years or more), these animals will have an added discount in the adoption fee.
“Older pets are wonderful company and are the prime choice for individuals who do not want the responsibility of training or raising a puppy,” the DACC said.
According to the authorities, senior pets adapt more easily to new environments. Generally all of them have already lived with a family and have basic training and good manners.
The May promotion is sponsored by the Los Angeles Animal Alliance. The promotion is valid in all County of Los Angeles Animal Care Centers.
