Hooray for Patch for humanizing animal shelter staff and, more importantly, educating the public on the importance of spay/neuter!

I have my dogs and cats all fixed. I try to spread the word always. i let them know its first important to fix them and they say oh my dad or whoever does not believe in it!!!i go to the dog parks and when one dog is not nutured it makes the nutered ones want to hump them and it distrats them as well as the non fixed dog does not injoy his time because he is getting mounted! it helps against some cancers etc. i wish they could make it more affordable for more people as some just cant afford it. I just get mad at the whole thing such a simple thing why dont people get it as i could go on and on with so many stories thanks

Americans will never learn. For years and years it´s known they shouldn´t buy dogs at puppy mills or buy them at petshops. Every year again they´re being told not to give puppies as presents, but they keep doing it. No wonders millions of dogs are being killed again and again. But I also blame shelter who just kill healthy young dogs within days within even trying to find new owners. It´s sick. I worked at a shelter for more than twelve years and I can count the number of dogs we had to put down on ONE HAND!!
