19-Year-Old Dies In Motorcycle Accident in Baldwin Park

At least two other people were seriously injured, according to Baldwin Park Police.

A 19-year-old man riding as a passenger on a motorcycle died in an accident on the evening of Sunday, June 17, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.

Lt. David Reynoso said that officers responded to a crash between a motorcycle and a car in the 3400 block of Patriti Ave.

According to preliminary reports, two people were riding on the motorcycle traveling north on Petriti when a 1962 Chrysler was pulling out of a driveway.

The motorcycle collided with the side of the car, causing both the driver and passenger to be launched in the air.

The motorcycle driver, an 18-year-old man, suffered a fractured tibia and broken femur, as well as injuries to his hip and arm.

The passenger suffered severe trauma and died at the hospital during surgery, Reynoso said. 

The person driving the vehicle, a 70-year-old man, suffered minor wounds and a dislocated elbow.

The three man involved were not identified but it was confirmed that they are Baldwin Park residents.

Authorities believe that speed could have been a factor in the accident. Drugs or alcohol have been ruled out. The investigation is still ongoing.
