Baldwin Park police investigators this week had another shooting investigation dumped into their laps, the latest in a rash of such crimes that have occurred since October.
The latest shooting was reported shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday on Dalewood Street, near Hamburger Lane; someone shot four to six rounds into the ground, according to witnesses.
The suspect drove away east on Dalewood in a gray Mazda Protege, Baldwin Park police Sgt. Mark Harvey told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
A suspect description was not immediately available.
On Nov. 2, a vehicle-to-vehicle shooting in the 3800 block of Maine Avenue claimed the life of Steven Reyes, 22, whose brother,to death last June.
On Nov. 6, 10 and 11, shots were heard in the city.
On Nov. 6, shots were heard on Olive Street, near Fortin Street; on Nov. 10, Athol Street, near Egil Avenue and Nov. 11 at La Rica Avenue, near Ramona Boulevard.
The first shooting was reported at 10:55 p.m. Oct. 19, when shots rang out in the 4400 block of Walnut Street. A second incident was reported at 11:03 p.m. that night in the 3900 block of La Rica Avenue.
The next shooting was reported at 2:13 a.m. Oct. 20, in the 3800 block of Cosbey Street, and the last shooting was reported at 1:22 a.m. that morning in the 3600 block of Ahern Drive, police said.
And the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported that on Nov. 8, a 33-year-old Cerritos man arrived at an emergency room with gunshot wounds to his left thigh, buttocks and lower back shortly before 12:30 p.m.
Investigators determined the shooting took place in front of a home in the 3000 block of Via Delores, SGVTribune.com reported.
