Arraigment Set for Driver Who Struck Road Worker in Baldwin Park

Tatsuhiko Sakamoto was charged with vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated for the death of Connor Penhall, a Caltrans contractor.

Arraignment is scheduled Wednesday for Tatsuhiko Sakamoto, in the death of motorcycle racing champion-turned-actor Bruce Penhall's 21-year-old son.

Sakamoto allegedly struck and killed Connor Penhall, 21-year-old resident of Corona, who was the son of Bruce Penhall, the actor and motorcycle racing champion.

On April 4 Connor Penhall was working for a Caltrans subcontractor on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in Baldwin Park when he was struck by Sakamoto's Toyota Rav4, which plowed through traffic cones.

According to the Penhall was operating a concrete saw on the westbound side of the freeway at Francisquito Avenue when he was killed around 11:45 p.m.
