Baldwin Park Kids Among Graduates from Explorer Academy

The graduating class of new Explorers includes 5 kids from Baldwin Park Police.

Los Angeles County Assistant Sheriff Cecil Rhambo will preside this Saturday at the graduation ceremony for 171 new law enforcement explorers from various sheriff's stations in the county, including 5 kids from Baldwin Park Police. 

The Baldwin Park Police Department Explorer Program is open to those 14 to 21 years old. At the Explorer Academy, the teens and young adults learn about crime prevention and other topics that can lead to careers in law enforcement.

Guest at the Saturday event include Baldwin Park chief of Police, Lili Hadsell.

The newest team of Explorers are from Baldwin Park, Bell Gardens, Burbank, Huntington Park, Long Beach, Montebello, Pasadena, Pomona, San Fernando and West Covina.

The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at Whittier High School Auditorium in
Whittier, located at 12417 Philadelphia Street.
