Baldwin Park Police To Be Back Drop of "World's Wildest Police Videos"

The popular reality show will use agents, patrol cars and the station building.

Although no footage will be used of chases, arrests or incidents taking place in the city, (BPPD) will be part of the popular reality show "World's Wildest Police Videos."

The City Council approved an agreement wednesday night to allow Pilgrim Operations Inc. to use BPPD personnel, patrol cars, and the station as a backdrop to their show.

The program shows real footage from police departments all over the world, and it features scenes such as car chases, arrests and shootings, among other things. (See video clip).

According to Lt. David Reynoso, spokesperson for BPPD, the episode will be aired sometime near the end of spring or beginning of summer.

The city will not incur in any expenses, and the production company will donate $500 to a charity selected by City authorities, according to the agreement.

The officers that participate in the episode will be compensated for the production company, Reynoso said.

"What we get with this opportunity is a lot of exposure for the Police Department", explained Reynoso. "We are looking to recruit more officers and I think this can help".
