Body Found in San Gabriel Canyon Riverbed

A partially decomposed body was found amid thick shrubs by hikers in a San Gabriel Canyon riverbed today.
The body appeared to have been there for an "extended period of time,'' said Sgt. Andy Sutcliffe of the Azusa Police Department.
Officers were unable to identify the victim or determine race or gender.

A possible cause of death was not obvious.
The coroner's office will investigate the case, along with detectives from the Azusa Police Department, Sutcliffe said.
