Why the shots were fired from the front of the 1993 Honda sedan was not immediately clear, said Sgt. Gregory Gutierrez of the Industry Station.

Near the end of the chase, a woman jumped from the moving car and was taken into custody, Gomez said. The vehicle then crashed, and two men fled into a residential neighborhood in the 13600 block of Monterey Avenue, he said, adding a perimeter was set up, and both were arrested.

No deputies were injured, Gomez said. A handgun was recovered at the scene, Gutierrez said.

All three suspects were arrested on suspicion of assault on a peace officer with a firearm and driving a stolen vehicle, Gomez said.
