Deputies spotted the stolen vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, but the suspect refused and a pursuit was underway, ending on East Stafford Street near the sheriff's station in Industry.

The suspect got out of the vehicle and fired a semi-automatic weapon at deputies, Saldana said. The deputy-involved shooting occurred, leaving the suspect hit at least once.
