Detectives Investigating Triple Homicide

Three gunshot victims were discovered in the 9900 block of Marshall Street about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.

Detectives today investigated a triple homicide being blamed on a man suspected of shooting his adult daughter and another woman in El Monte before turning his weapon on himself.

The three gunshot victims were discovered in the 9900 block of Marshall Street about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Deputy Mark Pope of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which was assisting El Monte police with the investigation.  Their names were withheld pending family notification.

Officers responding to a call reporting a "gunshot victim" discovered three bodies in a garage at the Marshall Street location, Deputy Don Walker said. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicated a man shot the two women, then turned the gun on himself, Walker said. The man was in his 50s and the two women were in their 30s, according to broadcast reports that described the two women as friends.

"One of the female victims is the daughter of the male suspect," El Monte Police Department Lt. Eddie Fernandez told ABC7, which also reported that detectives have interviewed at least one witness.
