DUI Checkpoint Today in Baldwin Park

Police will be checking for drunk and unlicensed drivers today, Dec 30, at an undisclosed time and location.

If you are driving around Baldwin Park, you might find a DUI and driver license checkpoint set up sometime today at an undisclosed location, says the .

The operation is part of the “Avoid the 100” campaign, a program that brings law enforcement agencies together to crack down on drinking drivers and reduce the number of alcohol-related deaths and injuries.

“This program is a proven and effective tool for achieving the city's goal in removing impaired drivers from our streets,” said Lt. J. Cowan of the Baldwin Park police department.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said since Dec. 16, officers representing more than 100 county law enforcement agencies have arrested 1,725 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Other cities around Baldwin Park will be holding DUI checkpoints tomorrow, Dec. 31, including El Monte, Monrovia, Covina, Azusa, Irwindale, Arcadia Alhambra, San Gabriel and Glendora.
