UPDATE: Shooting Victim in Baldwin Park Named, Brother Died Similar Way in June

Steven Reyes, of Baldwin Park, was the fatal victim of a car to car shooting Friday morning. His brother was also shot in June.

The victim of a shooting that took place Friday in Baldwin Park has been identified unofficially by friends as Steven Reyes, a resident of this city, whose brother was also killed in a similar way in June of this year.

UPDATE Sunday Nov. 4: Los Angeles County Coroner confirmed on Sunday the name of the victim is Steven Reyes. 

"His name was Steven Reyes. He wrestled for my brother at BPHS (Baldwin Park High School) 3 years ago", said Ricardo Tapia Bejar. "His brother was also shot a few months ago and I know its gang related."

Another friend also confirmed the same information.

"We were not close but we did talk whenever we see each other, his brother died not long time ago", said a person who prefer not to reveal her name.

Steven Reyes, apparently was the fatal victim of a car to car shooting this morning in Baldwin Park. Authorities believe the incident is gang related.

The shooting in the 3800 block of Maine Avenue was reported at 1:06 a.m. according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

"It appears that the cars were driving down the street. One was shooting at the other as they were driving," said Lt. John Cortina to KTLA5.

His brother, Guillermo Reyes, a 20-year-old Baldwin Park man was also fatally shot last June 25 after being targeted in a car-to-car attack by rival gang members.

Guillermo and detectives determined the shooting occurred close Center Drive and Los Angeles street about 10 p.m. that Monday night.

"Tragic for their mother. Both kids dying the same way", added another person through social media.
