Gang Member Arrested in Standoff Discharged From Hospital

He was taken to a hospital to be treated for cuts to his face caused by a police dog and flying glass.

An 18-year-old gang member who ran away from a probation camp and with police was behind bars Saturday.

Eduardo Rodriguez, 18, was taken to a hospital to be treated for cuts to his face caused by a police dog and flying glass, Police said.

Police used a bean bag round to blow out a window on a SUV where he was hiding in the roughly 8 a.m. arrest Friday, Lt. David Reynoso said.

"He's wanted for questioning involving an assault with a deadly weapon involving a knife that happened several months ago," he said.

Rodriguez had been reported missing from a county-run probation camp, and police had been watching his family's home in the 3800 block of Cosbey Street and a nearby home in the 13200 block of Earl Avenue, Reynoso said.

Police with warrants raided both addresses about 5 a.m., but Rodriguez refused to come out and hid in a SUV in the garage.

Police used a bean bag round to blow out a window, then sent in a dog.

A loaded pistol was found in Rodriguez's home after his arrest, police said.

According to the Immate Information of Los Angeles Sheriff Department he will be arraigned on Tuesday June 25.
