Witnesses told authorities that they saw a small white car fleeing from the scene after the shooting.

"Its scary. To know something like this happen in the back of your house," said Olga Santiago, a resident in the apartment complex.

"This is a nice neighborhood. I don't understand how something like this happened," added Frank Gutierrez, another resident of the complex.

Reynoso said that the victim had just arrived at his girlfriend's home when he was attacked. Authorities did not identify the victim and do not consider the shooting to be gang-related.
