Search Continues for Suspect in La Puente Shooting
Witnesses said that the unnamed victim and suspect got into a verbal altercation and a physical fight before the suspect shot at the victim multiple times.
A search was under way Thursday for whoever in La Puente.
Deputies were called to K & B Liquor at 443 S. Azusa Ave. around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The victim of the shooting was pronounced dead at a hospital, said Lt. Joe Chavez of the sheriff's Industry Station.
"Witnesses told detectives the victim and the suspect were involved in a verbal argument in the parking lot, which escalated to a physical altercation," said Deputy Kim Manatt of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau. "During the fight, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired at the victim multiple times."

A white Chevrolet pickup truck with its door open could be seen in the parking lot after the shooting. On the ground next to it were two bullet casings and, near the tailgate, clothing and a pair of men's dress shoes.
The suspect was described as between 35 and 40 years old, with short hair, wearing a gray shirt and dark pants. Witnesses said he ran away.
