A small kitchen fire in a Baldwin Park home was reported on Wednesday afternoon at 14513 California Ave., near the corner of Maine Ave.
According to an L.A. County Fire Department operator, Station 29 in Baldwin Park received a call regarding a structure fire on Wednesday around 12:53 p.m.
When agents arrived at the site, they found black smoke coming our from one of the windows. According to the operator, the fire had already been extinguished when firefighters arrived.
There were no injuries reported and damages were minor.
Authorities reminded residents about the importance of smoke detectors, to help avoid incidents of this type or even possible tragedies.
