The recent discovery of dead body near San Gabriel Canyon Road in Azusa is being investigated as possible homicide, reported this weekend the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
According to statements of Sergeant Andy Sutcliffe, given to the newspaper the a 55-year-old Baldwin Park resident was found dead in the shrubs west of the roadway with "an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound"
Azusa Police responded to the scene after they received a report of a gunshot sound near the 1775 San Gabriel Street Road about 8:45 pm on Friday.
Authorities have not revealed the identity of the deceased. The investigation is ongoing.
