An 18-year-old man who allegedly ripped a scooter away from an 11-year-old boy in Covina Christmas Day was behind bars, pending a court appearance Wednesday.
Francisco Rodriguez was booked into the county jail and was being held in lieu of $50,000, according to sheriff's records.
The suspect was arrested Friday, officials said.
The robbery took place about 2 p.m. in the 1300 block of Citrus Avenue, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Dave Vega.
The scooter was recovered and returned to the boy, Vega reported.
