Woman Who Tried to Kill Ex Boyfriend To Be Arraigned

Baldwin Park Police still after the woman's boyfriend who was her accomplice in the attack.

A 23 year old woman and La Puente resident will be arraigned Wednesday to answer charges regarding her attempt to kill an ex boyfriend, a resident of Baldwin Park, informed authorities.

According to Lt. David Reynoso, Christina Diane Montenegro, who was arrested on Tuesday, called her ex boyfriend and convinced him to come out of his house near the 13000 Block of Amar Street in Baldwin Park to meet her last April 21st.

Her current boyfriend, who officials did not identify was hiding in the car.

When the 32-year-old victim come out the house, he "shot him several times, " according to Reynoso. The victim survived the attack.

"He was not able to wound the victim and he survived the attack," the police spokesperson mentioned.

The victim’s identity was not released and the motive for the crime has not been determined.

Authorities believe the shooter is a gang member of the city of El Monte.

Last Tuesday police, along with a SWAT team served search warrant on two locations. One at 15100 Block of Fairgrove Avenue in La Puente and the 3600 Block of Athol Street in Baldwin Park.

Montenegro was found at the La Puente address and was arrested under suspicion of attempted homicide. The bail for Montenegro is set at 1.09million dollars and she will have to appear before a court in West Covina.
