Two Arrested, Two At Large After Police Chase in Baldwin Park

Jimmy Martinez, 21, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft along with a minor near the Marriott Courtyard Hotel.

The Baldwin Park Police Department arrested a 21-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, Monday night after the conclusion of a police chase in West Covina.

Jimmy Martinez, 21, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft along with a minor near the Marriott Courtyard Hotel.

According to Lt. David Reynoso, a spokesperson for the Baldwin Park Police, an officer spotted a stolen car near the intersection of Los Angeles and Fillhurst Street in Baldwin Park around 11:00 pm. on Monday. 

There were four subjects inside the vehicle.

When the officer tried to stop the car, the driver ran away and started a police chase.

The car stopped ater a 5 mile chase, near the 3200 block of Garvey Road in West Covina. The four occupants fled from the vehicle.

The minor was arrested as he left the car and the driver was caught minutes later. Two men remain at large.

A gun was thrown from the car and was recovered by the Baldwin Park Police.

The minor was cited and released to his parents. No one has been charged with possession of the handgun.
