Two Motorcyclists Injured After Blocking 210 Freeway

Two riders had fallen from their bikes and hundreds of others were blocking traffic and doing stunts around Irwindale, according to Media reports.

Two motorcyclists riding in a huge pack of riders on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Irwindale crashed and were injured today, possibly during an illegal stunt exhibition, a county fire dispatcher said Sunday.

Calls began coming in to California Highway Patrol dispatchers and freeway traffic reporters of a large pack of riders stopped on the eastbound freeway at about 1:10 p.m., between Mountain Avenue and the San Gabriel (605) Freeway.

CHP officers were dispatched to the location at 1:10 p.m., but their dispatchers said they only were there for 12 minutes.

The fire department said it dispatched crews and paramedics there, but the two victims were possibly picked up by a private ambulance service.

A traffic reporter at Los Angeles radio station KNX said numerous callers reported that freeway traffic had come to a complete stop and bikers were doing stunts in the freeway lanes.
