A Baldwin Park resident who was walking on Azusa Avenue Thursday in West Covina suffered serious injuries after being hit by a truck, which dragged her at least 20 feet, reported the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

According to statements given to the Tribune by Lt. Ken Plunkett, the incident happened around 2:18 p.m. on the corner of Azusa Ave. and Rowland Ave.

A 64-year-old woman driving her Ford Expedition on Rowland turned onto Azusa and hit the pedestrian.

The police spokesperson said that the driver did not realize there was an accident until someone yelled that she had hit a pedestrian. The driver stopped immediately afterward.

The Tribune reported that paramedics transported the injured woman to a trauma center by helicopter. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries to her leg and wounds all over her body.

The driver is not facing any charges and was not cited.
