Baldwin Park City Council members will vote on Wednesday to elect a new Mayor Pro Tempore for next year, and will also decide whether to grant a remodeling contract for Barnes Park to a construction company.
According to Susan Rubio, current Mayor Pro Tempore, the election is held regularly as part of the annual reorganization process that the Council must complete.
The main function of a Mayor Pro Tempore is to replace the Mayor elect in case of temporary absence.
After the city opens the registration process, any Councilmember can nominate a candidate without need of a second vote. The person with the most votes is elected.
Council members could also approve a contract for $30,570 for Hirsh and Associates to complete improvement projects for Barnes Park.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 5 in City Hall, located at 14403. E Pacific Avenue.
