Barnes Park Will Have New Playground, Picnic Shelter

Baldwin Park will make a park renovation replacing the actual playground and constructing a large picnic shelter.

The City of Baldwin Park finished this week seeking proposals to provide planning and design services for the installation of a new playground with water features and the design of a new picnic shelter at Barnes Park.

According to city documents, authorities are looking to seamlessly interface new improvements with the existing park amenities.

The total budget for this project, including design, construction management, and construction, is expected not-to-exceed $363,070.

The City plans to remove the existing rubberized turf and sand pits in both play areas and replace them with a rubberized surfacing that meets new requirements.

The existing splash pad fixtures and rubberized turf will be replaced with a larger brushed colored concrete splashpad area and new equipment  manufactured by Vortex Aquatic Structures International (See photo attached).
