The Baldwin Park City Council could approve on Wednesday a contract renovation -including a price increase- of the actual service agreement with the Department of Animal and Care Control, among other measures included in the agenda.
Aside from these topics, members of the Council will also have to debate approval for the purchase of 28 portable computers for Baldwin Park Police cars and a radio system.
Other agenda topics include the possible authorization to direct city staff to apply for grants for tree planting, as well as for programs that promote physical activity, and the approval of a new contract with 'Christiansen Amusement' to organize the traditional carnival in November.
According to documents sent to the Council, funds for physical fitness programs would be requested from the 'County of Los Angeles Healthy Eating Active Living' Program, which could provide up to $125 thousand yearly, for five years, to reduce obesity in Baldwin Park.
The City could also apply for available County funds to plant 500 trees on Olive and Baldwin Park streets, as well as in many schools in the district.
The purchase of computers and radio equipment will be done through concessions that the Police Department has received, which don't affect the general fund.
