Man's Best Friend Shows Loyalty to Her Own Kind (VIDEO)

A labrador dog's loyalty was unwavering even if it is challenged by dangerous morning traffic on a busy street. Grace will be up for adoption at Baldwin Park Animal Shelter.

A black female Labrador dog was spotted Wednesday morning by a passer-by in the city of La Puente, laying in the street next to another dog which was motionless and had suffered obvious head trauma.

A passing motorist put out traffic cones to protect the dog as it stood watch over another lab that had been killed by a vehicle, animal control officers said Saturday.

A Video shot by the motorist showed a yellow lab down in the 1200 block of Hacienda Boulevard, with a black lab standing next to it.

"Our officers picked up both dogs from the location, and the brave dog, who staff and volunteers have named Grace, will be available for adoption soon,'' Mayeda said.
