At least five early-education programs for children who are between 0 and 5 years old are available in the Baldwin Park Unified School District.
These programs, "Head Start', 'Early Head Start", State Preschool, Universal Preschool and Childcare, provide and alternative for parents who reside within the district.
According to Froylan Mendoza, Associate Superintendent with the BPUSD, more than 1,600 children benefited from these programs during the 2012 school year, in spite of recent budget cuts.
Studies have shown that children who attend preschool programs have higher probabilities to pursue a college education.
