Summer Cat Adoption Underway

Now through the end of August, the cost to adopt an adult cat will be $9 flat. All cats will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and implanted with a microchip.

Potential adopters can take advantage of the promotion, which is geared towards adult cats, 9 months of age and older.  Now through the end of August, the cost to adopt an adult cat will be $9 flat. All cats will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and implanted with a microchip.

According to authorities “kitten season,” is a time when animal control agencies begin seeing a significant increase in kittens entering local shelters.

The focus remains mainly on the young kittens that enter the County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) animal care centers and adult cats are often overlooked.

“Our adult cats have a difficult time finding new homes, especially in the middle of kitten season. We are excited and hopeful to see our adult cat adoption rate rise.  Adult cats are generally low maintenance and make wonderful pets,” said DACC director, Marcia Mayeda.

The promotion is valid at all DACC locations (as well as other locations- visit the Found Animals website for a complete list of locations).
