Braves Alumni Football Game this Friday

"Don't miss out playing football under the lights of Baldwin Park High School and seeing old friends"

The Baldwin Park Quarterback Club is hosting the 3rd Annual BP Braves Alumni Football Game this Friday May 18.  According to their facebook page the game will once again be coached by legendary coaches Ty Pagone and Tony Zane. "Don't miss out playing football under the lights of Baldwin Park High School and seeing old friends", they said in a flyer. "We guarantee it will be a game to remember". Speed Was Key to South East Jaguars' Victory

Derwin Henderson, South East High School’s football coach, believes that his fast tempo approach to training made a difference last season.

The Jaguars were crowned City Section Division II champions after beating Marshall High School 51 to 34 in a season with 13 wins and a single loss.  The team had been improving since the school's founding in 2005, and had a winning season during 2010, with seven wins and four losses and all seniors as players. The reigning CIF Division 5 champion boys' soccer team looks to defend its title when it travels to Monrovia Thursday afternoon for a first-round match at 3 p.m. Baldwin Park (13-6-2, 9-3 Valle Vista) started out slowly, losing three of its first six league matches. But then it finished strong by winning its final six matches to finish 9-3, which was good enough for the team to enter as the league's number two representative. Baldwin Park Soccer Player Signs With California Golden Bears

The California Golden Bears announced that Luis Fuentes, an NSCAA All-America forward, signed a national letter of Intent to join the men's soccer team next fall.

According to the official Web site of the California Golden Bears, Luis Fuentes, a Baldwin Park soccer player will be a junior in the 2012 season after signing a national letter of intent.  A letter of intent indicates an athlete's commitment to participate in a NCAA college or university sports program in the United States. Fuentes, a former Sierra Vista High School student, was a fundamental player for the Mt. San Antonio College soccer team, which has won two championships in three years, according to the Cal Bear Web site. "Luis has been so impressive on many fronts," Golden Bear Head Coach Kevin Grimes is quoted as saying. El programa juvenil de fútbol de Chivas USA va a supervisar a las ligas juveniles de Goals Soccer Center.

Chivas USA Youth Program Will Hold Tryouts at Goals Soccer Center

The Chivas USA Youth Soccer program will now be operating under the Goals Soccer Center youth leagues.

Goals Soccer Center has announced that the youth talent development branch of Chivas USA will be hosting coed tryouts for its league on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at the center.
