Massiel Y. Bobadilla, Neighbor

Massiel Bobadilla is a Los Angeles native who spent her early years growing up in the San Gabriel Valley—West Covina, to be more exact. A writer by day and a reader by night, she eventually earned her bachelor's degree in history from University of California, Los Angeles and her master's degree in print journalism from University of Southern California. Yes, she is aware that this gives her conflicting school spirit, but she maintains that it all helped her reaffirm her status as a proud Angeleno. 

Massiel wrote for Culver City Patch before coming to Patch Latino, where her profile of Fred Machado still ranks as her all time favorite assignment. These days, she's back in West Covina, preparing to start her Ph.D. in history while making her way through the stories of Baldwin Park and South Gate. If you ask her, food stories are the best to research, but history stories are the best to write.
